National Association of Building Designers

BDAQ is proud to be part of the National Association of Building Designers (NABD). Made up of BDAQ, Design Matters (formerly BDAV), BDAWA and BDANT, NABD unifies 85% of the nation’s building design association members.

Belonging to the NABD means our members get the benefits of being part of a National Association without sacrificing the state-based focus of BDAQ. NABD states work together to share resources like learning opportunities and member discounts as well as coming together every year for the National Design Awards.

About the NABD

The National Association of Building Designers was formed in July 2013 by the Building Designers Association of Queensland (BDAQ) and the Building Designers Association of Victoria (BDAV), and welcomed the Building Designers Association of Western Australia (BDAWA) and the Building Designers Association of the Northern Territory (BDANT) in successive months from March to May 2014.  The Association unifies 85% of the nation’s building design association members.

Objectives

1. To be the voice on national issues.

2. To promote and develop the profession of Building Design and advance the quality of the built environment.

3. To facilitate the exchange of information and foster continuing professional development.

4. To circulate information affecting the profession of Building Design, to print, publish, circulate such papers, periodicals, books, circulars and any other literary publications as may seem conducive to the objects of the Alliance.

5. To confer and enter into any discussions with any government, authority or industry.

6. The Association will not affiliate with or support any sectarian body or political party.
